We started Indie Eats here because Eugene proves what’s possible when a community decides to back its independent restaurants. Now we’re building a directory that celebrates the same thing happening in cities across the Pacific Northwest.
Locally owned, locally operated, not part of a national chain or franchise. One owner, one or two locations, decisions made by the people actually running the place — not a corporate office in another state.
If they’re publicly traded, they’re not indie. If the menu changes because the chef had a good idea on a Tuesday, they probably are.
Right now, the directory covers independent restaurants across the Pacific Northwest — primarily Oregon and Washington, with deep focus on Eugene, Portland, and the smaller towns in between.
Coverage is expanding as new restaurants get verified. If you don’t see your town yet, it’s probably coming. If you want to speed that up, send me a suggestion at support@tablehype.com.
Every restaurant on Indie Eats has been verified by an actual human — usually me. I check listings regularly and update hours, menus, and details when things change.
If you spot something out of date, or a restaurant that’s closed, send a note to support@tablehype.com and I’ll fix it fast. The directory is small enough that human attention is still possible. That’s the whole point.
